Bimanual surgery as the golden standard
in proliferative diabetic retinopathy

Proliferative diabetic retinopathy remains a challenging issue even today. Removal of fibrovascular tractions without causing iatrogenic retinal tears requires not only a good understanding of surgical anatomy but the possibility of using bi-manual techniques as well. Purpose of the presentation is to disscuss the technological options which can help us in carrying out such surgery and the surgical strategies which allow successful tackling of the several problems encountered in the course of the procedure.
