Sehr geehrte Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

das 8. Vitreoretinale Symposium wird in Frankfurt am Main organisiert
und fokussiert gezielt auf „Fortschritte in VitreoRetinal- Diagnostik, -Konzepten und -Techniquen“. Sowohl das anstehende Symposium am Freitag und Samstag (April 8/9) als auch die neu strukturierten „Dry-Labs“ am Donnerstag und Freitag (April 7/8) werden sich genau mit diesen beiden Themen beschäftigen. Während der Labs können Teilnehmer, Instruktoren und Experten gemeinsam an verschiedenen Vitrektomie-Maschinen Einblick in das tatsächliche vitreoretinale Instrumentatrium gewinnen, diese in ein neu entwickeltes Kunstauge übertragen und dann die Erfahrungen im Simulator
zum Einsatz bringen. Während des Symposiums werden wir besonderen Wert auf die Diskussion zu den beiden aufgeführten Themen legen. Damit ergänzen sich Symposium und Dry-Lab-Kurse zu einer Ausbildungs-Einheit mit hoher Durchschlagskraft. Die Ausbildung wird für alle Teilnehmer zertifiziert. Bitte freuen Sie sich auch schon auf den Gesellschaftsabend am Freitag, der hoffentlich wie in der Vergangenheit, die Arbeitseinheiten am Donnerstag/ Freitag und am Samstag „elegant überbrückt“.

Dear colleagues,

The 8th VRS will be held in Frankfurt/Main and specifically focuses on “Progress in VitreoRetinal Diagnostics, Concepts and Techniques” as well as on “Diabetic Retinopathy”. Both, the upcoming symposium on Friday and Saturday (April 8/9) as well as the newly designed “Dry-Labs” on Thursday and Friday (April 7/8), will cover the two topics. During the Lab, the participants, instructors and experts together train on different machines, at a newly designed practice eye and in the VRmagic simulator setup where they can perform multiple vitreoretinal interventions in a compact setup. During the symposium everybody is encouraged to discuss the “Progress in Vitreo-
Retinal-Diagnostics, Conceps and Techniques” as well as all questions about the current strategies in “Diabetic Retinopathy”. So the symposium and the Dry-Lab courses are considered to be a powerful certified educational unit and everybody takes profit when participating. As usual – the Social Dinner will be a fun event and run on Friday evening. We are looking forward to meeting you and are already exited about sharing a breathtaking International Vitreoretinal
