The transplantation of RPE with an chorioidal patch –
an alternative in the surgical AMD-treatment?

Background: Is there a possibility of treating difficult cases of AMD, for example the RPE detachment,
subretinal mass bleedings or of cases with a relatively sudden loss of vision under
0.1?
Besides the Rotation of the Macula the operative removal of the CNV and a simultaneous transplantation
of intact RPE under the retina is possible.
With the help of the choroid as a carrier it turns out well to place an intact lawn of RPE under
the retina.
Results: An operative method of the Transplantation of RPE with an choroidal patch with the
possibility of the complete removal of CNV and obliteration of the CNV- providing vessels is
presented with videos.
First anatomical and functional results are presented.
