The presentation provides an overview of the current understanding of the Pathogenesis of Age Related Macular Degeneration. The biochemical cascade involved in the disease process as well as the pathognomonic physical changes in the formation of Choroidal neo-vascularization are detailed. Based on an understanding of the pathogenesis of CNV in AMD, established as well as evolving rationales for treatment are explored.
