Dear colleagues and friends,
We kindly invite you to our 9th Vitreoretinal Symposium (VRS) in
Marburg to discuss latest developments in medical and surgical
retina. The upcomming symposium will focus on current developments
in vitreo-retinal surgery as well as novel intravitreal
approaches to treat vascular AMD. We are fortunate to have a
faculty of numerous renowned international leaders, who will share
with the audience their vast experience and knowledge.

We will start our symposium with a new high-light: Numerous wellnown,
handsome vitreo-retinal surgeons have agreed to spend with
us a morning in their microscoph. We plan to transmit life-surgery
from the OR to our lecture hall, where the audinace can watch and
discuss the surgical procedure and techniques with the perrforming
surgeon online. To stimulate a visionary thinking and the exchange
of ideas, the interactive audience participation is encouraged and
extensive extended panel discussion will be provided.
The popular “Dry-Labs” for young and experienced surgeons will
train on different machines, at a newly designed practice eye and in
the VRmagic simulator setup. Participants can perform together
with instructors and experts multiple vitreoretinal interventions in a
compact setup. In addition the meeting will also host the 3th intravitreal
injection workshop, which will present the indications,
regulations, complications and concentrations for the use of novel
drugs. Participants will be trained to perform a correct and save
intravitreal application in a wet-lab.
Marburg is an attractive city with numerous romantic places and
we look very much forward to welcome you in May 2006.
As usual – the Social Dinner will be a fun event at a historic castel
surrounded by a beautiful garden with music, dancing and typical
European beverages. Marburg will provide an ideal framework for
the scientific program and exchange of ideas.
We welcome you all in Marburg.
With kind regards
